Shreya Jain is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice at the Firm.
Shreya’s practice focuses on commercial and investor-state arbitrations, litigations arising from arbitrations, and public international law matters. Shreya is qualified to practice in India and New York, and is an accredited mediator. She also sits as an arbitrator and is a member of the SIAC Reserve Panel of Arbitrators.
Shreya’s experience includes complex arbitrations under the major international arbitration rules (ICSID, ICC, SIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, etc.) for a diverse range of clients in the energy, commodities, construction, oil & gas, public utilities, information technology, financial services and PE industries. She has worked on commercial and investor-state arbitrations seated in a variety of jurisdictions (including Mumbai, Singapore, London, New York, Washington D.C, UAE, Kigali and Stockholm) and governed by common law, civil law and Islamic law systems. In addition to arbitrations, Shreya represents clients in litigations arising from arbitrations, such as enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments, set aside proceedings, as well as interim relief applications in Indian and foreign courts. She also advises clients on structuring investments under investment treaties.
Shreya graduated from National Law School of India University, Bangalore, where she received a Gold Medal for the Best Student Advocate. She completed her LL.M. from Harvard Law School, where she was a J.N. Tata and Narottam Sekhsaria scholar and an editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. Before joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, she worked at Cooley LLP in New York and Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.
Shreya currently serves as the India Co-Chair of Young ITA, Asia Pacific Representative at YIAG (LCIA’s under-40 arm), Assistant Editor at the Kluwer Arbitration Blog, Steering Committee member in the ERA Pledge (India Chapter) and Secretary of the Harvard Club of Mumbai. She regularly speaks and writes on contemporary issues in the field and teaches seminar courses in several Indian law schools.

- Represented BM Mühendislikin (Turkey) an ICSID arbitration involving a denial of justice claim against UAE under the Turkey-UAE BIT.
- Represented Tekfen and TML in parallel ICC commercial (governed by Libyan law) and investment treaty arbitrations (under the Turkey-Libya BIT), arising out of the construction of the world’s largest water-pipeline network in Libya.

- Represented an American company in a London-seated commercial arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules arising out of a fit-out construction project in Zambia.
- Represented one of the largest global mining companies in a dispute against an African State arising from a mineral development agreement.
- Represented Indian construction company in an ICC arbitration against its Mauritian PE investor involving option and share purchase agreements.
- Represented an Indian software products company in SIAC arbitration against its American partner arising out of breaches of a product license agreement.
- Represented ArcelorMittal North America Holdings LLC in enforcement proceedings with respect to a Minnesota seated ICC award before the Bombay High Court and advised on global enforcement in various jurisdictions, including US, UK, Cayman Islands and Mauritius.
