Neelam regularly represents private equity clients and large corporates, including Brookfield Asset Management, L Catterton, Waterland Private Equity, Liberty Mutual Group and Tyson Foods and has extensive experience in advising domestic and international clients across a wide array of sectors, including specialized sectors such as infrastructure, IT services and insurance.

• Represented Waterland Private Equity, in its acquisition of Xebia (a multinational group engaged in IT consultancy and software development services) and their follow-on acquisitions in India, including the acquisition of Appcino (a low-code consulting and technology firm), CoMakeIT (a multinational group engaged in software product engineering) and Netlink Digital Solutions (a leading provider of low code digital transformation services for the OutSystems platform).
• Represented Brookfield in its acquisition of the Leela brand and certain hotel businesses from the distressed HLV Limited (formerly known as Hotel Leelaventures Limited), a listed company engaged in the luxury hospitality business – recognised by India Business Law Journal as one of the ‘Deals of the Year’.
• Represented KKR in its acquisition of control from the promoters of J.B. Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited (one of the oldest pharma companies in India) and the ensuing open offer – recognised as the ‘Asia Pacific Deal of the Year’ by Private Equity International Awards.
• Represented L Catterton Asia LLC in its financial investment in Jio Platforms, an Indian company engaged in the telecom sector – recognised by India Business Law Journal as a ‘Star Deal of the Year’.
• Represented Brookfield in the acquisition of East West Pipeline (a cross-country trunk pipeline for transportation of natural gas covering approximately 1460 kms) from the Reliance group through an Investment Infrastructure Trust sponsored by the Brookfield Group – recognised by India Business Law Journal as one of the ‘Deals of the Year’.
• Represented Liberty Mutual in restructuring of its rights in Liberty General Insurance (an Indian insurance company) as a result of the sale of the shares of Liberty General Insurance by Videocon Industries to Enam Group and Diamond Dealtrade Limited.
• Represented the Unifocus portfolio of Riverside Company in the acquisition of Knowcross Solutions (a leading provider of task management and operational optimization software for the hospitality industry).
• Advised IKEA in connection with their Indian operations, including franchise agreements for retail and online stores.
• Advised Tyson Foods in connection with their operations / interests in India and their ongoing compliance requirements.
