His experience includes filing and prosecuting patent and design applications in India, conducting prior art and freedom to operate searches, patentability assessments, and strategic counselling and advice in patents and designs, including advice on post-grant compliances and commercialization. Jogeshwar’s adversarial practice involves oppositions before the Indian Patent Office, and appeals before various High Courts and previously, the Intellectual Property Appellate Board.
Jogeshwar regularly advises clients on multiple issues at every stage in a patent’s lifecycle and formulation of internal patent strategies. His expertise extends to a broad range of fields such as biotechnology, chemical sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, atomic energy, mechanical sciences, electronics and telecom, software, and wind energy. Jogeshwar has assisted many clients in formulating their patent strategy internally and in response to portfolios of competitors; conducting searches for prior art, and drafting and prosecution largely in India but also in other jurisdictions such as the U.S. Jogeshwar also has select experience in advising on issues relating to statutory preclusion of inventions under the Atomic Energy Act.
Jogeshwar holds a bachelor’s degree from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, in Microbiology (Hons.), Biochemistry, and Life Sciences; a master’s degree in Biomedical Genetics from VIT University, Vellore; and an LL.B. (Hons. in Intellectual Property Law) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
