More provisions of companies (amendment) Act, 2020 notified w.e.f. 22 January 2021

The MCA has notified the following provisions of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020 to come into force from 22 January 2021:
- Proviso in clause (52) of Section 2 of the Principal Act (Companies not to be considered as listed companies)
- Section 11, amends section 62 of Principal Act (Further issue of share capital)
- Section 18(c), amends section 89 of the Principal Act (Exemption from declaration in Respect of Beneficial Interest in any Share)
- Section 22(ii), amends section 117 of the Principal Act (Exemption from filing of resolution for loan by Banks/NBFCs/HFCs)
- Section 25, inserts a new section 129-A in the Principal Act (Requirement of preparation of periodical financial results and audit/limited review)
- Section 27 amends, substitutes, inserts sub-sections (5)(7)(9), respectively, of section 135 of the Principal Act (Setting off of excess amount of CSR expenditure)
- Section 53 amends section 379 (Application of Act to Foreign Companies)
- Section 55, inserts a new section 393-A in the Principal Act (Exemptions to companies incorporated outside India)
- Section 58, 59, 60, amends Section 410 (Constitution of Appellate Tribunal.), inserts new section 418-A (Benches of Appellate Tribunal) and amends section 435 (Establishment of Special Courts ), respectively, of the Principal Act;
- Section 62, substitutes section 446B of the Principal Act (Lesser penalties for One Person Company, Startups and Producer Companies)
- Section 64 and Section 65, amends section 452 (Punishment for Wrongful Withholding of Property ) and section 454 (Adjudication of Penalties), respectively, of the Principal Act
