SAM-inar: Managing and strategising tax litigations in India

Rajat Bose, Partner, Tax Practice, moderated a panel discussion on managing and strategising tax disputes in India. The expert panel included Tarun Gulati, Senior Advocate; Prabhu Mishra, Director (Tax, Commercial and Logistics) Delta Electronics Pvt. Ltd. and Sanjeev Agarwal, Head, Tax and Customs, BMW India.

 

The discussion focused on aspects including the changing landscape of tax litigation in India, issues related to tax disputes and developing effective legal strategies to mitigate risks. Organisations will have to adapt broader framework of preventive litigation, including alternate dispute resolution strategies such as settlement commission, Sabka Vishwas scheme and many other alternatives to the conventional litigation system. The panelists highlighted the importance of  taking proper advice, invest in right kind of resources and build on facts, as most often businesses fail to do that.
