The first edition of the FinTech Moot court competition was recently held at NUJS (West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences) and organized by the firm. The event, inaugurated by Shilpa Mankar Ahluwalia, Partner & Head-FinTech, took place on 5 August, 2023, at the NUJS campus in Kolkata. A total of 18 prominent colleges from all over the country participated with great enthusiasm. Ultimately, Christ University from Bengaluru emerged as the winner of the competition. The final bench was presided over by an Hon’ble Justice Aftab Alam (Retd.), Mr. Rajshekhar Rao, Sr. Advocate, Mr. Gopal Sankaranarayan, Sr. Advocate, Ms. Poornima Sampath, Sr. Vice President, Tata Digital., while the preliminary rounds were judged by distinguished alumni from SAM & Co. and other industry leaders in the FinTech sector.
In an effort to inspire the next generation of legal professionals, the firm not only offered internship opportunities to the members of the winning team but also extended the same to the runner-up, best oralist, researcher, and those who excelled in their memorial submissions (both respondent and claimant) in Delhi and Bengaluru.
Overall, this event provided a platform for students from leading colleges to showcase their legal expertise in the field of FinTech and gain valuable experience through internships offered by the firm.
