The Firm organised a panel discussion on “Effective Management of Litigation and Arbitration” that also featured Mr. Harish Salve, QC, Senior Advocate and Former Solicitor General of India and senior Litigation and Arbitration lawyers from SAM & Co. In his opening remarks, Mr. Salve noted that the ongoing downturn in the economy stemming from COVID-19 has brought a positive shift in people’s mindset, to avoid conflict as far as possible, thereby reducing the appetite and inclination to litigate tremendously. Wherever litigation is inevitable, it has to be focused, compact and efficient rather than a conventional slowdown that at times, litigations tend to be.
Pallavi Shroff, Managing Partner and National Practice Head – Dispute Resolution, moderated the session on “Blueprint for successfully managing litigation before courts” that included SAM & Co Partners as panellists, including Ajit Warrier, Ameya Gokhale and Siddhartha Datta. Tejas Karia, Partner and Practice Head – Arbitration, moderated a second session on “Strategies for effectively managing an arbitration – institutional and ad-hoc perspective” that featured SAM & Co Partners Rishab Gupta, Ila Kapoor and Nitesh Jain, as panellists.
