APCAM International ADR summit 2023

Our Partner and Head – Arbitration, Tejas Karia was invited to participate in the inaugural International Summit on Alternative Dispute Resolution organised by Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (APCAM). Tejas spoke in the first session of the APCAM SUMMIT 2023 which was chaired by Justice S.R. Bhat, a distinguished Supreme Court Judge of India. Moderated by Anil Xavier, Chairman of APCAM. Other speakers in the panel included Justice M.B. Lokur, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Athita Komindr , the Head of UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific in Seoul, Jeff Leong 梁柏林 a Senior Partner at M/s. Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong in Malaysia, and RAJENDRA LADE, General Manager – Legal at HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) in India.

 

During the session, the panel discussed the vital role of arbitral institutions in facilitating cross-border business transactions and focuses on the essential role that institutions play in enabling and resolving international business disputes. In today’s globalized economy, where business transactions often transcend national boundaries, the need for effective mechanisms to address conflicts and ensure fair resolutions is paramount.
